Information for Parents
At Elizabeth East Kindergarten all children are valued as part of our dynamic and diverse community. We respect the culture of families and recognise the importance that families play in educating their children.
Staff are committed to providing a safe and welcoming learning environment where children are seen as central to our planning.
The provision of a play based curriculum using the Early Years Learning Framework (Belonging, Being and Becoming) as a base and including such documents as Respect, Reflect, Relate allows for an inclusive environment that respects each child in their learning journey.
We value:
- Children’s diverse home culture and the importance of each child within the community
- That children learn through engagement, prior knowledge and the scaffolding of ideas and concepts to build understanding
- That all children are unique and our ability to connect with them is vital in providing a sound curriculum that focuses on strengths and deepens understanding.
Children are offered an inclusive curriculum where they are supported in accessing a wide range of opportunities that build from their interests.
Staff provide opportunities for discussions with parents/caregivers, extended family members, other educational professionals and the children, to plan and implement an exciting curriculum that offers a range of activities that allows for a variety of learning styles.
